Tomas Zierhofer-Kin’s Seminar

‘Innovations in the creative process’, a two-day seminar for theatre producers and art managers, was held on the 5th and 6th of December 2016 on the platform of the Cultural Management Institute. It was led by the new artistic director of the Wiener Festwochen Tomas Zierhofer-Kin. Dedicated to contemporary methods of producing cultural projects, the seminar was organised by the Aksenov Family Foundation, Avesta Group, International Festival and School of Contemporary Art TERRITORIЯ, and the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art.

Presentation of the Salzburg Festival 2017

The programme of the Salzburg festival 2017, the most famous musical and theatrical showcase, was presented at the residence of the Austrian ambassador in Moscow. The presenters were the president of the festival Helga Rabl-Stadler, its artistic director Markus Hinterhäuser, and the conductor Teodor Currentzis. Aksenov Family Foundation took an active part in organising the event, since it curates the work of the Society of the Russian Friends of the Salzburg Festival.

Garage in Vienna

Aksenov Family Foundation continues to facilitate the expansion of Russia’s cultural institutions’ presence internationally. Last year the Foundation helped GROUND galleries (part of the Exhibition Halls of Moscow Association), Praktika theatre, and MediaArtLab in conjunction with Manezh to carry out their own non-profit projects at the viennacontemporary fair. This year, it is the Garage Museum of Contemporary Arts that has a stand at the Viennese fair.

Salzburg Festival 2016

The third special programme for the Russian Friends of the Salzburg Festival ran August 6th through 9th in Salzburg. The programme, which included the most spectacular musical and concert events of the 2016 Festival Season, guided tours, and lectures, was organised by the Festival in collaboration with Aksenov Family Foundation.

Archstoyanie 2016

Archstoyanie 2016 had its 11th consecutive run this year. The organisers framed the main theme as the concept of asylum, returning to the original role of Nikola-Lenivets as an asylum for the artists and architects seeking freedom and solitude. Aksenov Family Foundation was a partner in the educational programme of the festival curated by Antonio Geusa, a PhD in Media Arts, critic, and video-art specialist.

Rediscovery of the Avant-Garde

The Aksenov Family Foundation supported a number of talks at the discussion platform “Keys to Contemporary Art” at the viennacontemporary 2015 Art Fair. The first talk, “Rediscovery of the Avant-Garde”, was chaired by the Deputy Director of the MUMOK, Rainer Fuchs and took place on 25 September, 2015. The participants discussed the rediscovery of avantgardistic and neo-avantgardistic art from Eastern European countries, both in the Eastern European spheres and in an international framework.
